About Dr. Debabrata Nandi
Blending global training with local outreach to care for every child's heart.

Dr. Debabrata Nandi is a highly regarded paediatric cardiologist based in Kolkata and Barasat, with over 12 years of specialised experience managing heart conditions in infants, children and adolescents. He is associated with RTIICS, Narayana Health and is known for his non-invasive and interventional cardiology expertise.
In his own words: "Since I was a child, I always wanted to be a doctor; in medical school, I dreamt of becoming a cardiologist — a 'Dil Ka Doctor'." Turning down a neonatology fellowship at Oxford, he chose to train in paediatric and fetal cardiology at Sydney Children's Hospital, Australia.
Today he serves as Clinical Lead of the Department of Paediatric Cardiology at RN Tagore Hospital. He trained at The Children's Hospital at Westmead and Sydney Children's Hospital, Australia, where he was part of the heart-failure and pulmonary-hypertension team, and he manages complex congenital heart disease alongside the cardiothoracic surgical team. He has authored an IAP book chapter on the management of infective endocarditis and served on the national expert committee that framed India's consensus guidelines for congenital heart disease.
One of his notable cases — relieving an obstructed TAPVC in a 27-day-old, COVID-positive newborn through balloon angioplasty in the cath lab — was later featured in The Times of India.
His mantra: “Let's take small steps with each passing day to make this world a better place.”
